Virtual assemble is one of the most important parts of virtual manufacture system . In order to realize the unanimousness and integration of information and prepare for the subsequent works, such as assemble series plan, assemble interference check and optimized assemble technic . Therefore ,virtual assemble works need an integrated information model to analyze its model and to tackle its consistency in the assemble procedure .The aim of assemble information modeling is to build the unabridged product assemble information. According to requests of the subsequent function modules in the virtual assemble system ,we should to pick up and process the information . At last, we will build the product assemble information models which adapted to be used in the next step .This paper is based on the technical requests of virtual assemble .It analyzes technic of geometry modeling and characteristic modeling and brings forward the methods that combined the two formers . What we want to do is to set up a virtual assemble information system with three technic, that is, geometry modeling , feature modeling and object-oriented technic .Finally ,this paper introduces a model of VAIS(Virtual Assemble Information System) and shows some examples of this system running.
